Hi,

I am very interested in both of this months topics but unfortunately can't make the meeting (previous commitment). I am very interested to get a better overview of the comparative pros and cons of the different virtualization technologies out there. Could someone perhaps post a brief overview (like what may be presented at the meeting) to this list? It would be great for me and perhaps others who cannot come. Many thanks.

Eric

Hey all, just a quick reminder that this month's VAGUE meeting is
tomorrow, Sept 16th. :)

We have two main topics: virtualization technologies and the
OpenStreetMap project. For virtualization, a couple of people at the
last meeting volunteered to talk about VirtualBox (Flint?) and VMWare
(Stan?), and since, Mike Austin's offered to talk about Xen. Nifty.
I'm not sure if you all want to coordinate, or just come prepared ready
to talk, but it'd be nice if at least one of you presented something …
maybe a short overview of virtualization tech to frame the discussion?

Additionally, we've had an offer from Richard Weait of the OpenStreetMap
<http://www.openstreetmap.org/> community to talk about that project.
OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a collaborative project to create an free, open
and editable map of the world, with data available under a
CreativeCommons "by-sa" license. This is a nifty resource for many,
especially geocachers and bicyclists, so spread the word. :)
