Dan, Of course this discussion could continue indefinitely (and I apologize for continuing it). However, I would argue that "Hussein" and "Caribou Barbie" are on par in that they're both meant simply to insult the candidate in question while not talking about any underlying issues. Sure, "Hussein" is a "truthful statement" but it's use is obviously meant to be incendiary and not at all a criticism of the candidates qualifications or positions - just like "Caribou Barbie".
However, "MBNA" and "Flipper" are also on par in that, while meant to be insulting, they start to actually address specific issues. "MBNA" is a criticism of Biden's ties to the financial industry just as "Flipper" is a criticism of McCain's waffling on the issues. Basically, you're wrong - these are not different things. Both candidates have been criticized equally in these statements. Stop trying to throw gas on the fire.
