Dear Bradley,

What I find so distressing is how you are able to say what I meant in response to what I said.

Free/open source software is about *freedom* - it has absolutely nothing to

have seen nothing in vtSDA's mission that is opposition to these business
models.

Agreed with the point being that vtSDA is only now beginning to see the advantages of Free Software, and we need to help them. Not that VAGUE is really about software freedom, or are we?

Sure, it's doubtful that many of the members are, in fact, focused on using
and/or creating free/open source software but this isn't because
"commercial" and "freedom" are inherently in opposition.

You are completely correct here.

Bashing commercial software developers is counter-productive.

If commercial software is not free code, this lack of open source capability becomes a serious life cycle threat to the code base and the product is my point here.

Your efforts would be better focused on enlightening these business on how free/open source software is beneficial to them. In fact, VAGUE could be a major influence in these efforts.

Exactly why we should go on their cruises.

Thanks Bradley, see you tomorrow at Waterman.
