Rene, thank you. I've looked up net use and how to write a batch file and I 
think I'll be able to do it.

I'll check on rsync later.

Are you using XP Home or Pro?  XP Home will not remount network drives 
correctly on reboot.  To get around that, I put a small .bat file in the 
startup directory that just runs 'net use' to remount the drives.  I'd
have to look at the files at work, I can't remember the 'net use' syntax off 
the top of my head.

Use rsync, it compares files by breaking them up into segments and only 
transferring those portions that are different.
