I like the idea of an occasional working meeting where the members work on a project or projects.

- Open source bug fixing party [...] I am open to suggestions for projects.

There's a new project, libre.fm, which aims to create a Free / Open Source Software replacement for last.fm. If you don't know what last.fm is read the rest of this paragraph. Essentially, music playing software (audacious, xmms, winamp, etc) sends to last.fm the names of the songs you listen to. Through statistics / data mining, the site can suggest music that you might like or help you connect with other people that like the same music. You can share the list of music you've listened to with your friends, and you can also display the song you're currently listening to.

There is a lot to do since the project is very young, it launched April 1st of this year.
