It seems as though the fact that this kid runs linux is nothing more
than a side story.  He has been accused by his roommate of various
crimes (while an accusation != guilt, it is enough to start an
investigation) and he has been singled out as being involved in some
of the things he is accused of via DNS and DHCP records.

As for the MIT girl at the airport with the flashing shirt, I mean,
honestly.  Had she been living under a rock for the last few years?
