Regardless of the reason's behind Davis' absence -- heck, he could be hospitalized for all we know -- the fact of the matter is that the project is not well organized. The keys to a project that size should not be in a single person's hands -- but it's also negligence on the part of the signatories that they have not attempted before now to rectify the situation. I'm curious how this will play out -- a lot of managed hosts use CentOS as a default option as it's free and they have staff on board who can administer and support it; if the option goes away, I wonder what free OS with LTS cycles will be used? Debian is a very different beast than RHEL... > On Thu, 30 Jul 2009, David Hardy wrote: > >> Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2009 12:05:06 -0400 >> From: David Hardy <[email protected]> >> Reply-To: Vermont Area Group of Unix Enthusiasts <[email protected]> >> To: [email protected] >> Subject: Fwd: melodrama at CentOS? >> >> ---------- Forwarded message ---------- >> From: Michael ODonnell <[email protected]> >> Date: Thu, Jul 30, 2009 at 11:40 AM >> Subject: Re: melodrama at CentOS? >> To: [email protected] >> >> >> >> >>> Anybody know anything beyond what's mentioned in this open letter >>> to CentOS's Lance Davis signed by a number of key CentOS players? >>> >>> http://www.centos.org/ >> >> Ah.
