Seems like a higher interest is rotating the pad 90 degrees so the screen of
notebook/netbook can be used as an ebook reader, this should be of help,
though.

I know this could be done in xorg.conf, but I believe xorg.conf has changes
since then so that it is inaccessible? Or something along those lines, but I
had to do something along these lines for my Sharp Zaurus(Linux based PDA).
