Same here. I was using eee-buntu 2 NBR and it worked just fine, just upgraded to 3, but haven't tried the flip yet.

Depends on what you mean by "used." I've gotten video off of them by just plugging it in -- it looks and acts like a USB drive; copy files off with
$FILEMANAGER, and you're good to go.  If you mean "used" as in "like a
webcam" or somesuch, then I don't know -- but don't *think* they offer
that functionality.
