You could write a graphical Sudoku solver? Give it a few options, randomly generate a puzzle, manually input a puzzle, just build a puzzle and don't solve it. Have a few ways to export the answers html file (w3c complent of course), print off (completed, and just the puzzle), and text file. Put a nice little timer in the corner of the GUI (assuming your taking it that far) so you can use this program to brag about how much faster your computer is, it can generate and solve a puzzle in only 0.42 seconds.

You'll have to be a little more vague, and provide a little less information on the guidelines/requirements for the project.

So for my Linux/Unix class the teacher wants us to come up with a final project idea this week. I haven't really come up with any radical ideas yet so I figured I'd give you guys a buzz and see if you had any cool ideas for something fairly simple yet useful or cool looking.
