Greetings List Lurkers,
Damn, the makerbot http://www.makerbot.com/ is so very fine.
The adult swim will continue today ...this evening we will be meeting
between 5 and 7 PM at the Hedding United Methodist community facilities as
per usual.
I got one of the throw away modules working and it looks promising for the
other one. The saved one is mute but it is working. What is great is the
level of detail available about the Mindstorm NX module.
As we discussed previously, DTG has already found and demonstrated a
Python-to-NX cross interpreter with usb support. Tonight we will explore
the blue tooth of it all. Beyond the CATS,
http://docbox.flint.com:8081/cats tonight, we are gonna order both the
Mindstorm and the Dallas Semiconductor three wire temperature sensors, and
figure out how to get the data to the Mind-storm NX module, very likely
using Python.
In spite of this, we continue our python programming discussions, the by
now half hearted attempt to satisfy the ageing python homework contest,
and show the new ground we have plowed in "fried tiddles".
We also touch on system troubleshooting and we are always about Linux / Ubuntu
system installation. Keeping up with the latest on DTG's laptop, with it's
fresh copy of Maverick Meerkat installed, is a major event.

Come on down if you have questions or are interested in Linux or the concept of
free and open systems.
Finally, if you wish to be included on the "Linux_adult_swim" mailing list,
send a response to this note.
Kindest Regards,
