Greetings List Lurkers,
Rolf Meuller opines that if there is a swim meet tomorrow he will torture
us and bring a German plum cake made from plums grown on a plum tree that
had plums for the first time. Rolf goes on to say "It took 20 years to
grow this tree here in Vermont. That's how old Linux is."
That said, it is a sunny day after a Hurricane, here in North North
America. Come and do open source stuff. For more information about the
BOSI Adult Swim meeting time and location try this:

Come on down to the Hedding United Methodist Church Basement if you have
questions or are interested in Linux or the concept of free and open
systems, The basement of the Hedding UMC facility is actually working out
well.
Finally, I thought that Rolf's decades of patiently fostering growth was a
metaphor worth passing beyond the community of the Barre Open Systems
Institute and the "Adult Swim" weekly Open Source activity. Sometimes, we
neglect to see how far we have come, it is the curse of all visionaries to
forget to look back at the progress made. I for one, will enjoy a slice
of the fruit of this 20 year old Plum tree as I download the Oneiric
Ocelot, and think of all the distance we have traveled as a community
since mdz stopped by my house with a copy of Warty so many years ago...

Thanks again, and...
