At the absolute last minute (the swim starts in one half hour) we
have another
sunny day in downtown Barre, and an excellent opportunity to explore
Global Warming through the DalSemi 1-wire sensor systems.
I have dropped the dime on an adaptor cable. Hopefully this will be a
simple way to hook these up to a standard
+-12V RS-232 based DE-9 port.

I have ordered a bunch of these and hope to get the community sweating the
software this summer....
Otherwise Barre remains a great venue for a Linux and Open Source Software
meeting. Perennially, I hope that are gonna work more on our internal
infrastructure and the web rebuild situation, both of which is really in grim
shape. That said, while we have our grubby mits on the Dallas Semi "1-wire"
temperature probes, the damn Basic Stamp micro development kit appears to be
immune to Linux Who knows, we may actually end up on the Arduino or (hell :^) a
Raspberry Pie... in order to get around to doing some system development.

Note that our meeting time for this week will remain Monday 5-7 PM, by next
month we should be moving to 4:30 to 6:30 PM. (Yea right...:^)
