Yes, I did read his comments (the ones linked from the wikipedia page). To answer the question, beyond speed, I think that it is turning out that systemd is in the right position to do a good job of setting up the entire environment for new processes, both user and daemon. I agree that it can feel like a time wasting learning curve for us old timers, but still, I'm optimistic. -- Anthony Carrico
