Greetings List Lurkers,

Too good a chance not to put a plug in...

One excellent reason to attend SHARE Providence is that apparently I have recently been invited to lead a session, and shall be attempting, for the second time, to present the topic of "Visual Bash" to the esteemed ladies and gentlemen of the zVM/zLinux community. I suppose this is another opportunity to get it right, and for this I am most grateful.

Additionally, I just want to point out that I am still sweating the impending prospect of recitation at Ohio State towards the end of next month, the VM Workshop being 23d and 24th of June in Columbus. Hopefully this humble entertainment will not result in pitchforks or pitch-pipes, but rather veneration of those beloved and well-known pipes that serve us all so very well.

To those whose systems are either monumental or works in progress, all are welcome to visit and participate in either or both of these presentations.

Finally, I need to dispel the vicious rumor that selected, delicious and frosty locally produced, New England based, adult beverages might selectively be served towards the end of either or both of these presentations. That kind of scurrilous rumor can only lead to disorder and distraction during the Q&A period, and that sort of cheap pandering to the mob should be avoided at all costs, don't ya know?

Anyway, thanks for reading this salubrious promotion, and have a great Monday!

Kindest Regards,

Paul Flint

I know this is not really mailing list for share. But I was thinking

going. What should I expect to get out of the conference? I'm currently
maintaining several z/VM instances with various configurations.

Well, you can get an idea from share.org, but here's what I get out of
SHARE

1. Meet a lot of the folks to live here and on IBMVM.
2. Learn what's new in the Linux kernel and distros, as well as z/VM.
3. Learn how to use the technologies these products provide
4. Learn how and why others are doing what they do
5. Learn some best/suggested practices
6. Learn other relevant technologies (e.g. server, storage, z/OS)
7. Have fun
