I'm probably more Yahoo than Guru given how rarely I respond to anything here,
but I believe the biggest issue is there's some sort of overwrite protection at
the hardware level on those, so you have to open it up and change a jumper or
something.

I have a Chromebook, and I run Linux stuff on it, but I do it using the
Crostini subsystem available on more recent Chromebook models. Not sure how
far back that goes. I think there's a system you can install for older ones
that's not as integrated, though.

The Linux subsystem is decent. Won't run everything, especially since my
Chromebook has an ARM processor, not an Intel one. But, it does what I need.

Subject: Linux on a Chromebook?

Hi All.

Hope all you penguin lovers are enjoying the cold and snow this winter. We're
building a killer bobsled run in the front yard!

I picked up a couple of chromebooks for $20 each for the kids: search "hp
chromebook 14 g4 t4m32ut#aba" for specs. School is getting rid of these older
models partly because they no longer receive updates from Google I think.

Anyone have experience installing Linux on these bad boys?

Any guidance from the Gurus? Heckling from the yahoos?

Thanx.
