Thanks for the reply. I am using an ASUSTOR Model AS6404T. It runs on a *nix. It has NFS and SMD services. It may have been the wrong choice, but it is what I now have. Later I am interested in other options, but for now I need to get connections to this NAS working. The NAS itself works, it is just configuring the network connection and may also relate ot user/group configurations.
I am looking for someone who can go through teh configuration with me and help me to find the mistake that I have made. //Eric On 6/5/23 11:14 AM, Eric Basile wrote:
What flavor are you running for a NAS server? I found TrueNAS scale to be really easy and simple to set up if you're looking for other options. I fail to configure a stable connection. I have tried NFS and also smd (Samba) but am always running into problems. I think that it has to do with configurations for permissions and NFS. / Samba. Does anyone have experience wit these issue and can help. I have spent so much time with no stable results and am looking for anyone can help. Best, Eric -- -Eric
