Greetings List Lurkers, Snowy Winter day, cold and cloudy, but no snow...
Note that I shall be traveling for the next two Mondays. Let's hope we can meet! We start with the good news... THE TRACTOR FROM HELL IS GONE!!! Dave from St. Johnsbury is the new owner, and I wish him the best of luck. Getting it started and loaded on the dual axle trailer was almost more than I could deal with. It is gone!!! SILVER BLUE Actually made some progress this very morning removing cruft from the bluefin menu on my development system. Now if I can only figure out how to install a debian bottle... I continue to be trapped in my own attempt to synthesize a vision for an institute of higher education in Barre City. The irony is that we have been meeting, teaching and learning here at the Barre Open Systems Institute since October 2014, and while we have made progress in the technology, like humans everywhere we have not been able to expand the concepts of free and open source knowledge much at all. ...so we are revising an earlier plan,,, PLANNING FOR AN OPEN SOURCE UNIVERSITY IN BARRE CITY. Maybe it is merely a form of self delusion, that we can establish good and lasting institutions on the Barre City floodplains, yet I have published this idea, and now find the need to follow up with some written details. What keeps me going is the Career Center Planning meeting, which I shall continue to attend with great intestinal fortitude. I did deliver a short summary of an Open Source Institute idea to the attendees of that meeting. The participants do not believe that this idea of a University in Barre City will be received well, but what the heck. We are the Barre Open Systems Institute and we meet tonight. Thankfully, our gathering this evening is more about free software ideas, and less about local politics. This open discussion is available tonight, this Monday evening, at 6 PM at the York Library in beautiful East Barre Vermont. Thus we are centralizing and convocating at the York Branch Library this evening. That said, come in person or remotely and bring this and any Open Source other technical or personal blames and questions and we shall do our thing! Again this evening, beyond the Library face-2-face & gizmo-2-gizmo, we shall use https://meet.jit.si/bosi to connect. Feel free to click the following link (around 6PM tonight) to join the meeting: https://meet.jit.si/bosi Let me know if this works for everyone... ===== Just want to dial in on your phone?
