Hm ... I tried that, but it didn't seem to work, that's why I asked on the
mailing list.

I get the following error:

input.vala:2.12-2.21: error: syntax error, expected `;'
        const int bufferSize = 32;
                  ^^^^^^^^^^
Compilation failed: 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)

Without const, everything is working.
