  using valgrind/memcheck 1:3.7.0-6 on Debian Testing
while loading symbols, etc. for the first few minutes 
of a run with the following options it ties up the
machine enough that the mouse becomes unresponsive.

  which makes it a challenge to do other things when 
i'm waiting for a run to finish.

  perhaps, you won't consider this a bug (or perhaps
a kernel scheduling issue or ?), but i would be
surprised if i were the only person who hits this
problem.
