Hi there,

I can't see anything specific about it on the website, or similar, but
I thought I'd post this here as an FYI:

Running valgrind on osx 10.6.8, 10.7 and 10.8 can cause a kernel panic.

I've encountered this specifically with running valgrind over opengl
applications, notably moai (http://getmoai.com/) and a couple of SDL
applications.

Specifically I've had it happen when running --leak-check=full
--gen-suppressions=yes; but its intermittent, and I've had the same
test suite run successfully, and crash when run again the same day (on
the same machine).

I initially thought this was perhaps an issue with the RAM on my
machine, but I've encountered it on several different machines now.

However, since I'm now down one mac book pro, as a result of a fried
mother board, I'm not extremely enthusiastic to continue trying to
track down where exactly the cause of this is, but I can confirm it
happening on:

MacBook pro running 10.7, IMac running 10.6.8, Mac mini running 10.8
(all 64-bit).

This appears to be only the darwin support, and running the same
checks on a ubuntu vm, running on the mac doesn't have any issues.

I'd file this as a bug, but since I can't seem to generate a
repeatable test case (and toasting hardware isn't fun), I thought I'd
just at least post it as a notice here.

Cheers,
Doug.
