We could ask the sourceware overseers to take over the mailinglists.
sourceware used to be very strict about not allowing HTML email.
But I believe they will now strip such HTML attachments instead of
just bouncing them. Are others bothered by the current mailinglist
arrangement? Should we start a discussion about moving to sourceware?
(sourceware is where our current git repository lives)

I forget whether the Sourceforge newsletter arrives once per month or twice per month.  It's rare enough that I don't pay much attention.  I really don't think it's a problem.  YMMV.
