If by 'main memory' you mean RAM usage in total as opposed to heap or
stack), then this valgrind plugin might help:

It can separate between instruction and data, gives you the number
number of accessed pages, both over time and in total.
Otherwise, for heap and stack you can use valgrind's massif.
