This is a good summary. As mentioned in another part of the thread, I think that in long run it will be indeed needed to implement the approach described as "RVV to variable-length IR". I hope to help with making sure it can work for Arm SVE too. I guess if initial experiments show that this option is hard and will take time to implement then it could make sense in short term for the RISC-V port to go with the "RVV to dirty helper" implementation.
