**Point of order:** "The event formerly known as JavaOne" is 16-19th
September. So cancelling next EG meeting on the 11th, reconvening 25th
September.
- Remi: question to DanH regarding the difference between
`invokevirtual` and `invokeinterface`
- DanH: Could be annoying to blur these two
- Remi: interested in `invokevirtual` working with
interfaces...works with existing code...even if you change to an
interface in the future.
- Remi: interested in pattern matching use-case (and Valhalla)
- Retro-fitting classes to interfaces
- Simms: Could be a tool or a distraction (for the Valhalla project) ?
- Fred: there are a number of VM breakages, alot of spec impact
- DanH: since 8 verification allows for private methods
- ...but verifier might not know...checks delayed until runtime
