A head's up for any of you who may be trying out this patch -- I've been testing it under load with httperf, and have encountered some assertion failures. It's definitely caused by the patch -- I can see that in the backtraces, and the crash doesn't happen in the trunk version to which I added the extension. I believe there's a memory leak, related either to the duplication of the stale object's storage into the new object after validation, or not properly discarding the stale object after it's no longer needed. Will post a fix ASAP.
