The issue was on the .htaccess redirect, I had to use: RewriteRule ^word1\-word2/?$ "https\:\/\/www\.mysite\.com\/word3\-word2 [R=301,L] instead of: RewriteRule ^word1\-word2$ "https\:\/\/www\.mysite\.com\/word3\-word2 [R=301,L] Sorry!
