It is true...there is a strong stench when passing by this area, especially immediately after the oil tanks.

I hear that it has launched a bout of nausea on Goanet. I have been saying this for a while now - Goa has been turned into an outdoor toilet by both ghatis and Indian visitors. It is impossible to miss the morning array of evacuating ghatis along the waterline beginning in Miramar all along the waterline rightinto the city, and then across the river along theMalim, Betim, Reis Magos locus, as well as theshores of the Mandovi along the Britona periphery. But if you want to see the mother of all shitathons,you have to take an early morning ride along thehighway that runs to the Dabolim airport along the BITS-Goa campus. 99% of Goans are unaware of this shocking (for Goa - for the rest of Indiait is de rigueur), filthy spectacle in the crepuscularhours when the both the shoulders of a long stretch of the highway become saturated with ghati faeces. I have thus far refrained from taking pictures of people defecating (*). Joe's picture has mere-evaluating that policy. (*) In Sept I took some pictures of the Penha da França church with my 300mm telephoto lens from thePonte de Linhares causeway across the river. Ididn't realize it right away, but when I loaded the pictures on my computer the lens had capturedg hatis doing their early morning discharge on the riverline next to the church. As a result, I had to re-shoot at a more appetizing hour.
