Dears,
My comrade in ABA suggests that some of the Ministers in Goa need a
tanning. One would have thought that the in-house expertise ...and the hiding
that the former TCP Minister received at the Panaji Police station on 19
February, 2008 ... would have made the jokers smarter. The Minister for
Panchayati Raj seems to think he is in the British Raj era ..if TOI's Raju
Nayak has heard and quoted him right, that is.

Our very dear Babu seems to think that the abbreviation SC always refers to
the "Supreme Court". It does not occur to him that SC is also used for Sports
Clubs, among other things.

It sounds like Apocalypse. In any case it is a revelation of the rot that we
elect. Read page 1 of TOI Goa Edition on Tuesday the 13th!

"Come to me all ye builders who are overburdened by the yoke of the Gram
Sabhas ...and I will give you a licence. My fee is small and your profits will
be huge." Babu 20:21

Even the Satan can quote the law!

  Amen.

Battle lines drawn: Government versus the people? Posted by: "Vidyadhar
Gadgil" [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon May 12, 2008 9:10 pm (PDT) Today's Times of
India has a report on the Benaulim meet which was
a grand success. And right next to this is Babu Azgaonkar waxing
eloquent on the government's right to do something totally opposed
to people's wishes (for some reason this is not in the online
edition). He even goes so far as to say that if the gram sabhas
reject a proposal, the project promoters should come to the
government, which will approve it.

So the battle lines are now getting clearly drawn. Who will
triumph, the people or the government? This morning my son said he
thought the government is supposed to do the people's bidding?
Well, not any longer it appears. So the people will just have to
show the government who's boss.
