Dears,

There are THREE variants of a letter that can be sent to the Governor of Goa
along with the email ID where to send it. It does not need eloquence or great
internet ability to cut-n-paste it, change the name and address .... and
change, add or delete a part of the text, if wanted .... and email it back to
the Governor of Goa. It would be interesting to note just HOW MANY NRI Goans
have done that simple act? the answer will answer all other questions.

Thank God for people like Arwin Mesquita, Jerome Mendes, George Pinto, Filomena
Giese and others who make time to write back, to write letters to editor or
even go hand in memorandums when in Goa. A word of appreciation [priase is
often not needed] for activists back home in Goa and/or a small contribution
when neded [Goa Sudharop has been doing that consistently over the years] goes
a long way. If the character of Goa is lost, NRGs will be like the hardworking
Goans abroad who come home to find a wayward wife or husband .... and children
gone astray ... only on a bigger magnitude.

Read what Arwin has written and DO what you can. Anybody can find half a dozen
EXCUSES ...when a thousand REASONS are staring him or her in the face!!

If Cidade de Goa's illegal use of Government acquired land for villagers'
recreational facility for illegal extention of its hotel [as decided by the
High Court bench at Panaji AND the Supreme Court of India] is allowed ...... in
addition to its illegal use of the PUBLIC BEACH as a private area for hotel
guests only ..... it will be a bad precedent. The issue is discussed thread
bare elsewhere and can now be seen on NDTV [Prudent Media TV will not carry the
story because the Timblo's own the TV channel]. If you want to see how much
Timblo's and the Fomento Group care for Goa and livelihoods, visit
www.mandgoa.blogspot. They think "Goa is MINE !!" To understand imining in Goa
see Rajendra Talak's award winning Konkani film ALISHA available as DVD and VCD.

So do what you can. No one is asking you do do more than that. Each one speak
for oneself and lead by example as Arwin does. Please post your comments on his
Blog: http://goanidentity .blogspot. com/ or write back to us.

Hi
While I agree with your message. There may be many Goans who are not as
eloquent, but would like to do something to help Goa. Do not ignore them they
could help you in many ways, think about how they can help Goa's cause. I am
sure that they would sign up for petitions or in other ways. But there may be
some with no internet access perhaps flyers in church or other places where
many Goans meet/congregrate?
Just my two bits.
Best Regards

There is a famous saying “The Pen is mightier than the sword”. Non Resident
Goans (NRG’s) like Rajan Parrikar, Freddy Fernandes, Mario Rodrigues, Rick
Fernandes & others, write frequently to the Goan Newspapers, on saving Goa &
its identity. However, time is running out and we need more impact; More NRG’s
must, at least write frequently, to the local Goan media.

(3) Regular writing will undoubtedly fuel a VERY STRONG UNSTOPPABLE MOMENTUM
amongst Goans, to rise & speak/act.
(4) Surely lack of interest from Goans (particularly NRG’s) can de-motivate
Activists in Goa.
(5) Minimum 30% of Goans are outside Goa, exposed to various new ideas & best
practices around the Globe; can’t we contribute something back to Goa?

Many Goans are quite successful overseas; please “NEVER FORGET WHERE YOU CAME
FROM”; you now have a Golden Opportunity in your one lifetime, to give back &
help your people/home, when they need you the most!! The choice is yours; allow
Goa that you know to die or do something to save it!! I believe that with
increasing number of Goans joining the effort, the hope of saving Goa & its
identity will only increase!!
