Perhaps as a modification to the Area of Effect trait:

Use an Area of Effect radius to unhide opposing units that are hidden.

1. Toggleable to keep a piece unhidden until re-hidden by the 
opponent, or, to return automatically to hidden status when the AoE 
is not over them and on.
2. Ideally have a variable to indicate whether the unhide effect is
  
  A. Indicated to both players (ie the opponent knows his piece has 
been seen)

  B. Only indicated to the player with the AoE active

  C. Indicated to both players only if the involved pieces' AoEs 
overlap--allowing a double-blind movement, since if Unit-A has an AoE 
range of 3 hexes and Unit-B has an AoE range of only 2 hexes, Unit-A 
will see Unit-B, without their knowledge.

  D. Pie-In-The-Sky? The ability to have custom AoE shapes, like a 
cone, or a line, or merely 1 hex further to the piece's "front."
