You did, I was the one who asked it.  Here's a c&p of the e-mail  reply on
how to do it (minus unrelated content). The title of the original  e-mail was
"user friendly question."

Yes, you can edit  the vassal.jnlp file and load any module instead. If
you look out for  '<!-- EDIT:' you will find the right spots.

Editing skills will be sufficient  :)

Back in post 6377 I requested (politely, I hope!)  info on creating
desktop shortcuts to modules I have on my computer. I  vaguely remember
there being some info on how to do this a while back, but  can no
longer find it on the vassalengine.org site. A search on  "desktop
shortcut" doesn't really help, either. So I'll repost my  original
query again below and hope that some kind soul can  help.

-------

I've created a shortcut to the desktop for the  AMvassal.jnlp program.
Double clicking on same brings up the VASSAL launcher  where I can
select "Play Module," "Server Status,"Edit Module," etc., etc.  All
well and good.

However, I want to have this shortcut point not  just to the VASSAL
launcher but also launch a specific module. So my question  is, what
phraseology do you have to add to the shortcut's "Target" and  "Start
in:" lines to do this? I've perused the Wiki but haven't found  this
info (and if it *is* in there, please just point me in the  right
direction and I'll take it from there).

Thanks in  advance,

Dave
