Randy Are you sure that it's not "connecting" you to the peer to peer server? You can check by looking to see if you appear on the "who's online?" list on the main site.
Alternatively, I spent about an hour last night hasseling my way through peer to peer with eventual success! I've just added the fruits of my experience to the Server Connection WIKI, but here's the short version: 1. Your firewall may be blocking port 5050. Good news - you can use your firewall program to open it! 2. Yahoo Messenger also uses (read "hogs") port 5050. You may have to quit it to connect. More detail on the WIKI. I hope this helps.
