hi all, thanks for the answers on the menu options. i have 2 more questions now that i'm here...
i am using prototypes with send to location commands in them, and they work to send a unit to an exact pixel location on the map, but it doesn't then snap to grid like all other movement does. and tracking down exactly the correct pixel to send to in order for it to not need to snap to grid is very painstaking stuff. the biggest problem here is that not only does it not look right (unsnapped), but also that such "sent" units do not join with a stack of other units that are "snapped" correctly. can "send to location" snap to grid in the same way dragging units does? and can location/grid_number be used instead of pixel values for such "send to"s? if so, i couldn't figure out how... lastly, either a bug or something i've set up incorrectly: when i use the Send To command that moves a unit from the main board into a location (also on the main board, but with a location/grid overlay named "Delay Box"), i get this text message written to the log: * Fra 012(Col)V moves Delay Box -> Delay Box -bruce (Axis) * when i do the same move, just dragging the unit to the same location, i get this: * Fra 012(Col)V moves w2113 -> Delay Box -bruce (Axis) * (which is what it should say.) the prototype report format for this command is $oldPieceName$ moves $oldLocation$ -> Delay Box (i've also tried $newPieceName$ and $location$, but still get the same incorrect text log message...) is this a bug or something i've made a mistake on? this problem occurs also when the Send To location is on a completely separate board as well (the force pool board for instance...) (note: this text problem does not seem to cause any confusion in replaying actual log files.) thanks much, bruce ------------------------ Yahoo!
