Brent,

My 3 maps are 8"x22", 256 color PNG's. The resolution is 300, which
I am guessing is way to high :) 9 MB each...and not exactly super
detailed. What is a good resolution for VASSAL? The direction I am
going here is going to be a very big and unusable mod :)

Thanks!

Jeff

engine site it 12Mb. If it larger than this, then you need to either
host it at a different site or break it into pieces. If one of the
maps is an optional scenario you could break it up using extensions.

on disk, but on the size of the map in pixels. Multiple very large
maps will require large amounts of physical and page memory on your
system and may blow the Maximum Java Heap size. General performance
will deteriorate. Startup time will be slow. If you only use one map
at a time, this may well not be a problem.

using JPG's?
