Why can I never get the 'peer to peer' to work? Do I have to do something
other than enter my opponent's address and port?

  Subject: [vassalengine] peer-to-peer mode

It seems like the server is still down or at least I can't access it
as usual. Yesterday we tried to play through peer-to-peer mode instead
but couldn't get more than 2 players connected. Don't know if it was
because of Vassal or some player's local firewall or similar, but it
highlights something that is really missing in Vassal. Complete peer-
  to-peer functionality.

Of course Vassal is a great piece of software and especially since
it's free. But if anyone could set up a fully functional server, it
would be even more useful. Or is that already possible and I am
  missing something?

I think that more people would put time, effort and confidence in
Vassal and the modules if it wasn't so dependant on a specific server.

Don't take this wrong, I really like Vassal. But everything can be
  improved, right?
