Hello all,
I have been following the list for a little while but have not yet
tried to create a VASSAL module. I do have a question for the list.
Is there a way to create games that have a gameplay system
that requires two or more players to plot the moves of units
at the same time? This would be usefull for flying combat games
or naval games where the unit moves are plotted ahead of time,
both sides move, and then combat is resolved based on the final
positions of the units. I suppose one could have a window with
a list of units where the player could type in the moves and
keep it hidden untill the other player was also finished. Then
both windows could become visible or the windows could combine
into one when the second player hits the finish button. What I'd
rather know, though, is this: is there a way to create a way
for VASSAL to actually plot the final hex position based on
what the player enters as orders and automatically move the
counter there? This could be combined with the requirement
that all players indicate they are finished before the movement
resolution is done. If any games already have a feature that
handles WEGO, at least for movement, I would appreciate seeing
how it was done.
Thanks,
-Erik
