I haven't/can't confirm, but it is my suspicion that having sounds play in your
module will eventually cause them to run out of system heap or memory or
whatever the technical term would be.
For NFL Strategy, I have a small, simple .wav that plays when either side has
chosen a play (so that you don't have to keep asking "are you ready?"). An
auditory cue. One my sons computer, the map windows would eventually stop
showing the game pieces. It's not the newest of computers so I wasn't too
concerned, but playing last night my playing opponent was having the same
problems.
I've made much more intensive (graphically) modules than this - there are no
large image pieces and not a lot of pieces in the thing altogether, so my
initial thinking is that I bet each time that .wav is played, a little more
memory/heap is used for the module that isn't regained.
I'll try some tests of a "soundless" version of the game to see if it
eliminates the problem and will report back. Perhaps though someone else is
noticing the same thing and we can pinpoint.
