I think something a bit more general-purpose would be better, but feel free to tell me otherwise. Here's what I was thinking would be a good interface: Imagine something that looks like the History sidebar in Firefox. All logged actions would be there. You could add annotations, which would themselves appear in the log as actions (but they'd be non-ops). E.g., you might want to include a note indicating the end of a phase. Also, it should be possible to group actions with an annotation as a parent, so you could do things like put all of the moves for 6 June under one parent, and then collapse the tree and see just the days in the history. For searching, again, something similar to Firefox: '/' when the history pane is focused brings up a search bar. For more complex searches, we could have an action filter so that only actions meeting certain criteria are displayed in the action tree. -- J.
