Dave,
I just checked. The problem with Event Board is the lack of regions and
region snapping. One problem you will find still after you fix it is that
because the 3 areas are so close together, the cards may still not snap to the
correct place, the snaps act like rubber bands, if you arent clear enough from
one snap it might not pop to the snap you think you are on when you let go.
Create some good buffer space between your region areas would address this

Tim,
OK...got this figured out. I needed to switch the reporting of the zone
to 'gridLocation', now it works great using $location$ in my message.
Can't get the other problem resolved though (about the 'Event' deck).
I'll keep looking and see if I can find anything.
Dave

Tim,
I have tried both $location$ and $LocationName$. Neither has done what
I want.
Here's the hierarchy:
[Map Window] = GameBoard
[Board] = Main Board
[Multi-zoned Grid]
[Zone] = Europe
[Irregular Grid]
[Region] = London
I want it to report:
"Marker placed in London by Player X"
What I'm getting (using $location$ or $LocationName$) is:
"Marker placed in Europe by Player X"
The syntax I'm using is:
*$newPieceName$ placed in $location$ by $playerSide$*
Does this make any sense?
Oh, and thanks for looking at that other problem. I do have a region
defined in there, but I'll take a look at that.
Dave

Oops wrong syntax - it should be $location$

Hi Dave,
Have you tried $LocationName$ ?
Also your Event Board in that mod you sent - You have only one region
defined and snap to region on. This is why your card does not seem to
appear on the board - it keeps snapping back into the deck pile. Add 2
more regions for the discard pile and bottom box or turn the snap off.

Hi all,
I am looking for the way to send a grid location to the chat window.
For example, I have a board called 'Map' with a zone called 'Europe'
with an irregular grid and one location named 'London' I want it to
say "So-and-so is in London", but all I can figure out is to say
"So-and-so is in Map"
I'm looking through the reference manual, and it looks like
$gridLocation$ should do it, but when I use that in my 'Report Action'
property, it prints out 'gridLocation' instead of the actual location
on the board.
Thanks in advance!
Dave Neumann
