Job: Configuration Manager / Build Engineer

Location: Rockville, MD

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Rate: $7000/Months on c2c all inclusive

*Major Purpose of Job:*

The Software Configuration Manager/Build Engineer will maintain base source
code branches and build environment.  The ideal candidate will be
responsible for the creation and validation of product builds.  The
SCM/Build Engineer is required to work closely with key members of the
application team they support (technical project leads, architects, lead
developers, etc.) as well as interface with infrastructure support to meet
delivery milestones for builds and releases.  They are also responsible for
ensuring that quality standards and practices are followed within the
context of their project responsibilities.  They are a matrixed resource
whose coverage can extend over many projects.



*Essential Job Functions:*

·         Supporting StarTeam Administrator on their supported projects.

-          Responsible for maintaining user access and entitlements for
defined security groups according to department and FINRA standards

-          Responsible for the integration of StarTeam with the automated
build infrastructure to support department and FINRA repeatability and
consistency goals

·         Collaborate with Application Team to provide SCM and Build support
which includes:

-          Performing code branches and work with development on code merges
in support of parallel software development

-          Performing software builds to include determining root cause and
resolution of resulting issues

-          Responsible for the deployment of releases to QC, Dev, and
Production environments

-          Compiling code and maintaining development and test code
baselines

-          Responsible for the documentation and execution of the
Configuration Management Plan for their assigned projects

-          Responsible for tracking and reporting the disposition of
Software Change Requests throughout the change request lifecycle**



*Other Responsibilities:*

Assume responsibilities for Sr. Configuration Manager as needed in their
absence.**

*Education/Experience Requirements:*

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
related discipline.

·     Three to five years experience implementing SCM processes and tools in
a web-based and client-server environment, including build automation tools.

·     Understanding of Configuration Management best practice principles and
practical experience in implementing them.

·     Hands-on experience with large scale SCM tools (i.e. StarTeam, PVCS
Dimensions, MKS IM & SI, ClearCase/ClearQuest/UCM, etc).

·     Experience in UNIX Shell (Korn/Bourne), Ant, Perl scripting languages.

·     Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively organize
and manage tasks and time in a dynamic environment.

·     Troubleshooting and problem isolation skills as well as the ability to
clearly communicate complex issues to coworkers (peers, developers, and
managers).**
