Outside of modifying the source code, is there any way to allow for signal handlers to perform certain behaviors? I'm running on OS X, and would like to use virtualbox directly with launchd as opposed to writing a wrapper (or using existing ones such as macport's) - ideally a signal would send an ACPI power button signal to a running instance. Is there any existing support for this?
