yes, on windows it's a virtual SCSI disk device.
 
Thanks for the info, I didn't know vdfuse. However, we don't like to use FUSE, 
so we did the virtual disk driver on linux from kernel level.

Probably that is why your VMlite installer installs new SCSI driver on
Windows host !

There is already such a utility for Linux  known as "vdfuse": (but I
have not tried it, and it is not part of VirtualBox)
