Renzo:  You see the "status bar" of VirtualBox window?
it has icons: Hard Disk, CD-ROM, Network, ...

Right click on the "Network Icon" will allow you to hot-configure the
networking of VirtualBox... (also available via menu->devices->network
adapters)

very nice... for most of my needs VDE acts similarly to "Internal",
while for comples configurations, until now I used exclusively
"bridged" mode with lots of manual configurations, so I would say, the
"VDE" is probably fits in somewhere between "Internal" and "Bridged".
