I wonder why you apparently consider pretty much every new feature a
regression. We finally implemented this after years and countless nag
mails of users. We didn't do this to annoy you personally, but the
number of people enjoying the new freedom is certainly larger than the
single complaint that the old behavior was better. As long as the number
of complaints stays like this I see no reason to make any changes.
