I get it. Like I said since the wizard showed up in the GUI I was wondering if it would be possible to add this in the wizard. ( Just trying to think outside the box). I just thought it would be an advantage to have the option to do so or not but hey that's why there are so many different color cars around, right? Anyway I can make the changes on my copy of VBox, continue to use 3rd party, or use VBoxManage. No worries.

Yes that is the UUID that I am talking about. You are right that you
can't use the same UUID for two *registered guests but I often do this
and register the one I want at the time. I suppose it is not needed as
much by the masses since it is more of a backup of the original. I can
continue to use 3rd party for this.

Christian was already pointing in the right direction - you can set the hardware UUID (which by default is the same as the VM UUID) of a VM through VBoxManage modifyvm. I don't think it's improving usability if we offer every weird option in the GUI. It is meant to cover the usual cases efficiently.

I really like the addition of _C_lone to the main manager and the fact
that the wizard not only clones the guest but registers it as well. One thing that I would like added to the wizard is the ability to retain the
original UUID as well if I choose. I do a lot of testing and this
feature it vital in Windows.
I guess you are talking about the new Clone VM feature? Which uuid do
you mean? The uuid of the guest? This is not possible, cause you can't
use one uuid for two guests. Please note, that you can specify the
target uuid with VBoxManage.
