Actually it's VERY confusing to set it to the hostname of the host where vboxshell is running, if one uses it to talk to the webservice API on a different system. So it's probably a starting point, but not the final word on this topic. Anyway, vboxshell is more a big piece of sample code than a true production ready python shell for controlling VirtualBox...
