Hi, are you using the API itself or some frontend / client which ships with VBox? If using the API, please have a look at the SDK reference; it contains the things which might need adjustment when using your own client code with former versions of VBox.
BTW, did executing with VBoxManage work for you so using the 4.3 Additions? Did the VM log tell something additional if not?
