Yes, it's expected, and yes, it's a consequence of removing the "old style" 3D support in VirtualBox 6.1.

With VirtualBox 6.1 we noticed that VBoxOGL.so and VBoxEGL.so libraries are missing (https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/pull/5372/) compared to the 6.0 branch. Is this expected? Is this the consequence of "Graphics: New style 3D support (with VBoxSVGA and VMSVGA) remains, old style 3D support (with VBoxVGA) has been completely removed" (from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Changelog)? Looking at RPM Fusion's mere disabling of VBoxOGL handling in https://pkgs.rpmfusion.org/cgit/free/VirtualBox.git/commit/?id=83d6711b4a66da87e87157b24309b7d78cea7b1e I thought, perhaps, I am not the only one confused with the change.
