Yeah, I could reproduce the failure with the stock Ubuntu 20.04 kernel
and all the tools installed as well which then shows a slightly different
failure during build. Since r138534 is a bit older, I also
did build a .run installer for the current head r138981 and that one
fails still also during compiling the main vboxdrv while doing
something in the kernel source tree.
We'll look into it.
Ah yes, this is the SUBDIRS= vrs. M= makefile issue on Linux systems
running kernel versions >= 5.4
we just recently fixed with r139105. We'll soon publish new testbuilds.
